The days have been ridiculously dreary and cold and it's basically like we've been moving through this endless rainy cloud. Okay, I'm exaggerating a bit. I did see the sun for about three minutes today! Melbourne's weather is amazing. I find the best thing to do on a really grey day is to be as bright as possible. This was super easy to do with my new wool coat!

I am excited because this is the first nice coat I have, really. I have one other that I bought for about 15 dollars which is made out of...well, I have no idea, but it's certainly not as nice as this one. My other coat is hot pink (seeing a trend?) but er, was purchased about 10 years ago and barely fits now. I love the huge collar, the swinginess, and of course, the bright red colour! It's a real pick-me-up on a otherwise dull day. What's your solution to the winter blues?

Whenever it's summer, I end up wearing warm knits and whenever it's winter, I want to wear florals and swingy short skirts...yes, I'm just that much of a rebel! I think it's less of my natural hardcoreness and more just because I get bored so easily (just ask Ramalon, he's forced to sit with me while I skip through youtube videos after 20 seconds because I've lost interest...) and can't stand to do the same thing over and over!

It hasn't been too bad lately, but it was definitely very cold for my trip! I challenged my friend to a "who can stand stand in the freezing cold ocean for the longest" competition and I'm pretty sure I dominated. YES! Every victory is a victory, no?

At this moment in time, I'll be lounging on a beach (???) only not really, because it's going to be freezing! Somehow, I think that we are not the best at arranging holidays, but it'll be fun anyway. Reading, relaxing in front of the fire, playing video games (MARIO)...not quite a magical summer holiday, but sounds pretty good to me!

I've been liking super loose and comfortable things lately, the easier, the better! This dress is really flowy but it's a little bit too cold to wear it by itself. Unfortunately, it wrinkles really easily! Anyone have tips for stopping clothes from wrinkling?

I can't believe how long it's been since I last posted! With big assignments, exams and...lots of lazing around after exam time I sort of just let it slip by. It's been so cold and busy lately that the days have been a blur of trying to stay in bed for as long as possible, curling up with warm drinks and thick cardigans, and trying to spend as little time without socks on as possible! Luckily, it's been a little better this week...and I found my camera, buried under some random things in my room. Oops!

Long skirts are the best because you can wear whatever you want underneath them - leggings? Pajama pants? Thick socks? No worries!

I had these ready to go ages ago but have just been buried under lots of work! Okay, I'm exaggerating...it's probably more like feel too guilty that I'm not studying and do random things to escape that feeling...like thinking about cleaning my room (that's how desperate I am...), eating food and taking naps....and occasionally studying, as well as working most nights! Anyway, I'm the type that will do almost anything but actually study hard to get good marks...hence this outfit, where I thought that maybe if I dressed like I imagined a scholarly-type genius would, I might get somewhere. Not sure if it's really working since I just typed would as "wood"...gosh I'm tired!

Classes are over and I'm now in the all important exam preparation time...except I just started working part-time and actually still have an assignment left...hmm! Unfortunately, all this stress has somehow made me slack off and I've just been fluffing around all day. Oops! This outfit is kind of evidence of this - don't tell anyone, but I was actually wearing pajama pants under this skirt. YES. I discovered that if you wear a maxi skirt, you can comfortably and easily conceal anything from thick leggings to trackies underneath! So...now I know what I'm going to be living in for the rest of the winter. What's your secret to keeping warm and comfortable?

Naturally, the sudden cold snap in Melbourne inspired me to spend ages looking for a decent winter coat. Somehow, I have managed to get by without one but now with online shopping and the amazing dollar, the inflated prices of the ones here are no trouble! This cape is surprisingly heavy and warm and easy to take on and off. It wasn't cheap (about 50 AUD), but I wouldn't say it was very expensive either! After going with Ramalon to help him find a coat, I've come to realise that the median price for a wool coat is about 300 dollars. Oh dear!

I was getting a little sick of wearing my pink docs every day, but seeing these photos makes me worried - is leather waterproof? After seeing a girl get owned by a huge muddy puddle today, I'm very glad I bought them because they're waterproof and very sturdy, even though they were a bit pricy - it's a small price to pay for warm and dry feet...

I wore this to see the Melbourne Theatre Company's performance of Next to Normal! It's a really interesting musical that addresses issues such as mental illness, the importance of family, societal pressures etc. The Age called it a "feel-good" musical but I personally found it pretty sad! It was quite thrilling though. I love going out to watch shows but I don't really have the money to do it often, oh dear. If anyone is considering seeing it, I really recommend it...I especially liked the psychiatrist. There is something exciting about going into a nice theatre and walking on the plush red carpet. If I ever get super rich, I'm going to have a room in my house especially for movies and the like and have the same beautifully soft carpet. It's going to be amazing!

It's been a few days in Melbourne, with the coldest May day ever (is it really still Autumn?) and constant rain. I think it's times like this when it's definitely better to dress bright! The secret to keeping warm in winter is definitely layers, a couple of longsleeve tops under your dress, an extra pair of tights and socks, a warm hat...and this allows for heaps of opportunities for bright colours. Even though it's a bit incongruous...well, when your surroundings are like this, that is kind of good thing. Kind of a really good thing, actually! What's your secret to staying warm and happy in freezing cold weather?

I can't believe how cold it's been lately! Luckily, my mother and grandma and aunty have returned home from their holidays so we are officially allowed to turn on the heater again! It just felt so wasteful when it was just me and my dad. No more nights huddled in front of my desks wearing four layers, a beanie and boot-slippers. My regular mouse slippers just weren't warm enough! It's crazy to think that winter has just started.

These boots are ridiculously big and clunky, but they are definitely warm. They double for rainboots, yay! Though I do sort of want a pair of rainboots...preferable spotty and pink...hmm! What kind of shoes do you wear in the rain?

I have a not-so-secret super love of romantic comedies. Good, bad, awful, I love them all! This could perhaps be extended to all types of cheesy happy feel-good movies...but yes! Anyway, recently I forced Ramalon to watch No Strings Attached with me, and my favourite line by far was when Natalie gets really mad and yells at some girl and says, "You look like a pumpkin, bitch!". It was just...funny, haha! Probably because it was so random. So of course, I decided that it would be fun to...dress like a pumpkin?

Originally, I was planning to wear a red cardigan so I could look like flame, how amazing. In my mind it worked but tragically I locked it outside! I was unable to complete my day dressed like Fawkes (Anyone excited for Harry Potter 7.5?)...oh well! Maybe another day :)

I am really excited because, with this new jacket, I have just taken my first step into my new gangster style. Oh wait, I forgot, since I'm now gangster I have to start spelling it with an "a". Okay. Gangsta. That's me! You can tell by my far-off stare and generally menacing demeanour. Be careful!

Okay, I'm just kidding, but I do really love my new jacket. It started off super expensive, got quite expensive, and then with an extra 40% off became...moderately expensive. HM. But it's super wind-breaking, warm, comfortable, and see how gangsta I look! ...Please humour me :)

I'm now in the market for a new hardcore motorcycle (I'm thinking the bicycle I have now just doesn't cut it). So...pastel pink scooter? Sounds good! What do you think?

I'm back from my camp, happy but sleep-deprived. I've never really realised just how amazing it is to have a fluffy pillow and cuddly blankets. Definitely beats weird vinyl sheets and a squished up jumper any day! Although it's not as bad as back in high school when we used to carry around super thin foam "mattresses" and tents and just hike up mountains all camp I am still very happy to be home.

This dress reminds me of the cutest little school uniform I saw when I was working in a shop. It was lilac and white checked cotton with puffed sleeves and an adorable peter pan collar. This one is definitely more casual and unfortunately a lot less sweet...but also more normal. And of course, the best thing to do with a normal dress that looks perfectly fine simple is to wear it with ridiculously bright and Smurf-esque tights. Yay!

I kind of love the feeling when it's super misty and cold in the morning and everything looks sort of out of focus and dreamy. Luckily, with my less-than-high-tech camera, soft-focus (also known as out of focus) photos, I can have this all the time...yay? I just drove home in the middle of the night (this is probably the closest that I get to being active in the early morning these days) and it was kind of amazing to drive down huge hills and see the streetlights disappearing into the fog...

I'm on holidays and it's amazing! I feel ridiculous for being so happy about being on break considering that I don't have that many contact hours, but the last week has been pretty crazy with assignments and presentations. I've handed most of them in, with only about two left before examinations and assessments, yay! I love the feeling you get after accomplishing something, especially when it's been weighing on you for awhile. Maybe I should just start doing things earlier....hmm.

I find it hard to blog lately because...well, to be honest, my life is exceedingly boring. How sad! The most exciting thing that happened to me today is when my niece and nephew fought each other over the last piece of mango jelly that I was feeding them. Which...adorable, but hardly super exciting. Oh well! At least I have lots of strangely out-of-focus pictures (my self-timer doesn't like any sudden motions!), yes?

I really like the crocheted crop top that my mother dug out from somewhere in storage for me though :) The flowers with the little gold beads are the cutest! I always feel super worried that I'm going to snag it or something...today, my clothing has become caught on door handles three times. This is why I can't have nice things :(

Sometimes it's really fun to match. Sometimes, though, it's really fun just to be ridiculous and wear lots of clashing patterns and a Mickey Mouse t-shirt. I am sort of just a big kid at heart; I love Disney! I can't wait until I am rich enough to go to American and visit the happiest place in the world! Which one is better, Disneyland or Disneyworld? Are they the same place? Today I found myself wishing I could go back to Movie World (Superman!) and Sea World and all the other theme parks, but why not aim higher? After staring at a colour chart for awhile, I have decided my beloved purple skirt is either a darkish orchid or er...fandango. Cool! I am so fond of it that I have a skirt, shoes and a dress all in very similar shades. Although, I'm not sure if my love for the skirt stems from the colour or my love of the colour comes from the skirts! It's extremely comfortable and not indecently short, all very difficult things to come by these days.

Speaking of colours, this poncho-like top is ridiculous, it has yellows, blues, oranges, pinks and creams. Some might say this is a little bit overboard, but I like it. Why? Well...why not?

So, lately I have seen lots of adorable little cropped tops and being like a leaf in the wind (by this I mean very easily convinced) I somehow ended up with one! But come on, who can resist stripes and a cute heart? Yep, I'm a sucker. Anyway, in order to avoid any indecency I decided to wear it over a floaty cream dress. And er, pink combat boots. Yep, that's the way to go :)

PS. Any advice for taking photos in glaring sunlight? Half of mine turned out super exposed and crazy white...which is pretty cool, but a little bit annoying!

This summer, I've had a strange attraction to things with exciting backs. The only problem is, how in the world can you wear appropriate undergarments with some of them? This dress isn't too much of a problem, but unfortunately the thin and delicate cotton tends to...droop, shall we say? Luckily, I've found a solution! On days that you can't be bothered making sure nothing is visible that shouldn't be visible...just add a t-shirt underneath. It looks a little dorky, but hey, when do I not?

I think that this dress might be the only green thing that I own, besides a pair of tights. I used to really wish that I had green eyes...I was a big Harry Potter fan! Wearing something like this really makes me feel like a little kid again! Rolling around in the grass reminds me of a couple of summers ago, when I tried really hard to learn how to do a handstand. I would do them everywhere - up against walls, in random parks...resulting in quite a few accidents. Luckily, my guitar was very cheap and dodgy...anyway! Somehow, it seems like a really cool thing to be able to do. Since I seem to have so much time on my hands (someone, please employ me!), I've decided to create a new list of pointless goals for this su- hm, I have just realised it's already autumn. Let's say, this semester.

1. Learn how to do a handstand. Hopefully it'll be more successful than before!

2. Side splits! It looks way cooler than front ones.

3. Learn and practise the sun salutation every morning. Who doesn't love the sun?

4. I was going to say that I wanted to learn how to do a backflip, but also, I don't want to die. HMM

Okay, to be completed! I still think it'll be pretty fun though. Anyone else want to try? :)

You know that sort of day, when the clouds seems like they're right next to you, and there's a chill on your skin? I like to look out my window (condensation makes everything looks extra pretty) at the plants and flowers. Somehow everything looks a little bit nicer when it's blurry - I think it's because it gives your imagination some more wiggle room. All this is a justification for my camera - adorable and pink and super fast time in between photos, but picture quality? Not so much! My usual camera, the family camera, is slightly better (still point and shoot!) and can focus some of the time. However, I'm missing my memory card and need to buy a new one. Until then, ...well, being a little moody can be fun at times!

I live quite close to my school, definitely close enough to cycle. However, lately, I've been finding myself a little bit afraid of going on to the roads! Part of this stems from the time that I turned into uni, tried to stop my bike and...fell off it. So embarrassing! It's also because it can be dangerous and I've heard a lot of horror stories.* It's just too silly to leave my perfectly good bike sitting around at home, however, so I think that this week I'm going to give it a go and just be ultra careful. Wish me luck!

When I was in primary school, one of our "assignments" was to complete a journal. I remember writing one entry about where I was from - at that time I had just moved to the big city from a small town. Upon reading, my teacher commented, with some surprise, that I was a country girl. I've never really ever thought of myself that way - I didn't live on a farm (with koalas in the backyard, like my friend!) or milk cows or anything. However, it sounds like fun, don't you think? I don't know how safe I'd be doing that sort of work though...as you may be able to see in one of the photos, I'm a danger to myself!

It's just hit me...summer has actually already passed!! I don't quite understand what happened, but somehow it's already autumn, and we didn't even have one decent beach day. How strange! After finally getting my lovely laptop back, I am very slowly edging back into blogging. I've also started university again! It feels very strange to have to wake up and go to lectures and tutorials after a solid four month break, but I suppose it feels good to be a little bit more productive. This year I've decided to turn over a new leaf - taking lots of notes, keeping up to date with all the readings...let's see how long it lasts for! Wish me luck.

PS. I LOVE MARIO. Ever since I got New Super Mario Bros I've been playing it with Ramalon every spare minute (he's amazing, I'm...alright) and we finally beat the last world! Now we're going back to collect all the Star Coins and finish all the levels we warped past. Mario is the best.

Okay! I was going to try and keep this a secret because it's...to be honest, it's just humiliating. However, it feels strange to leave my blog so unkempt so I've decided to come clean and admit the truth. Here it comes...this is so hard...

I murdered my computer. Or is it manslaughter? Laptop slaughter!! Yes, my beloved laptop, who was so very young, has suffered a tragic fate. I am a total klutz sometimes (most of the time) somehow managed to fall flat on my face and kill my most prized possession. Oh, Vaio. To some, you were just a ridiculous pink laptop that only a silly girl would buy...but to me, you were amazing. Come back to me soon!

Okay, okay, I'm being a little overdramatic! I really do miss my computer though. Maybe I should take this offline time to take a walk, get some exercise or enjoy nature or something...lame! Just kidding :)

Happy Chinese New Year, everyone! I hope you celebrate lots by eating lots of delicious food, being with your family and maybe scooping up some lucky money! Whenever I think of Chinese New Year, I remember the time that we made some lanterns at school. It was really fun, but they were never looked quite as nice as this photo!

I love Tangled. How amazing was the animation? The lantern scene was so lovely that I teared up a little bit...which is weird, because I never cry in movies! Okay, I lied, I always cry in movies. Oops! I also loved the music...the opening song was stuck in my head for a whole week after watching it. I'm also a Mandy Moore fan (who isn't?) and...how lovely is Zachary Levi. All in all, the perfect recipe for a great movie. Which it was!

Speaking of Zachary Levi...did anyone catch the latest episode of Chuck? I love it so much!

Super hot weather and bright sunshine calls for a loose shirt, basic shorts and a big hat to block out the sun. It's important to be sunsmart! Despite the amount of sunscreen that I usually cake on, I'm still a lot more tan than I was before...but hopefully it's protected me from the dangerous UV rays; I don't really know anything about it. You can see the difference between the inside and the outside of my forearm - the outside is several shades darker! Anyway, on a day like this all I want to do is loll around in an air conditioned room eating jelly or playing Mario Tennis during the breaks of the Australian Open final. So lazy! But today is my only day (half day...) off, so I'm going to do as little as possible for as long as possible.

I always feel a bit stupidly self-centred when I talk about myself on this blog (probably has something to do with the fact it's like, 90% posting photos of myself...oops) but this time I have a good excuse courtesy of the Stylish Blogger Award! I was lucky enough to be nominated by the lovely Daphne, Frivolous, Susan and Joan. Usually I'm really bad about doing these kind of things but today I decided to give it a go. So! Here are seven things about me that you may or may not have known.

1. I'm the biggest procrastinator ever! I plan to do something but somehow time always runs away from me...how sad.

2. My favourite food is potato because my favourite flavour is none. What I mean is, I prefer tasteless food over tasty food. Plain pasta is the best.

3. I'm really clumsy but also really coordinated at the same time. Once I tripped down a flight of stairs and magically landed on my feet. True story! My theory is that if you fall a lot of times, your falling karma goes up, meaning that you'll have lots of little falls but no serious accidents.

4. I love Disney. Feature films, television series, music and even terrible straight-to-tv movies - I love them all. I secretly wish I was Selena Gomez.

5. I also secretly wish I was a spy! I love all spy-like movies and tv shoes because they're so exciting. No thrillers though! I'm a bit of a wimp.

6. I'm messy. My closet looks like a plate of spaghetti. Colourful spaghetti, but still...

7. I have a fear of rejection (and conflict). I'm supposed to tag 15 people to do this but..that's scary! Therefore, I tag everyone who reads this. You have to do it now...or else. That's right! Be scared. We're gonna find you!

First of all, I'd like to issue a restatement of my last comment: I did not mean to imply that Ramalon lacked in photographic talent nor that the photo was ridiculous. In fact, it is extremely well-composed and full of unique artistic vision. Okay! Moving on~ (he's so silly)

Don't you just hate it when something shrinks in the wash? When I bought this playsuit (I like to refer to them as fake dresses) about a year ago, it was quite roomy and not at all indecent. However, after one wash...it suddenly became really short and low cut! This isn't the first time it has happened either. My personal theory is that rayon hates me (as this and some other things that have shrunk have been made of rayon) but it might just be my washing machine! It's almost enough to inspire me to do all my washing by hand...okay, not really.

Turns out it was only a few days ago when I said that I was about to have a lot more time off and therefore could post...looks like I jinxed myself! Lately I've been working six days a week and on my day off, I tutor for four hours...which, though not particularly fun, is kind of good because a) money and b) fun! Except for the fun part. Oh well! Overseas trips, here I come...eventually...!

Anyway, I finally got a chance to fix and post these photos that I took...a little while ago. This is the dress that my adorable grandma gave me for Christmas! She was so cute - she asked me to take her shopping because she didn't want to choose something that I didn't like or that didn't fit well. Before I leave the house she always exclaims at how I am dressed up so nicely (even when I'm not, which is pretty often) and that I should bring a jacket in case it gets cold. The reason for this reminiscing is just that she's in Sydney visiting a friend for the week and the house seems so empty without her! I'm missing the sounds of mah jong...

There's nothing much to say about this dress besides that I love it! Pale pink, polka dots, puffy and...perfect for me. So many plosive sounds! I included the last photo because I thought it was pretty ridiculous. Ramalon likes to just take photos at random, no matter what I happen to be doing at that time and I thought you might like to see what I look like when I'm blinking and talking. You're welcome!

Hi! It's been such a long time since I last posted that I almost forgot my password. Luckily, I'm pretty much still a child in that all my passwords are the same and are ridiculously easy to guess...oops! Don't try to hack me! Anyway, I've been so busy lately - working heaps everyday, taking whatever spare time I have to try and relax and watch Phineas and Ferb with Ramalon (a very important task, you know!) that the time has passed super quickly and just like that, it's almost the end of January! It looks like things are going to calm down, though, so I'll probably be back to my regular posting time pretty soon!

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for anyone living in flood affected areas - specifically in Queensland. To everyone suffering, our hearts go out to you. Australia is a beautiful place to live in, and I absolutely love it... but at times it can be terrible. I still remember the poem that we learnt in primary school on Federation Day - it has never seemed so apt. "My Country", indeed. Don't worry, I still love you.

Now that the holidays are over, I'm back to working full-time hours. I'm also back to wearing only black and red every day! It gets a little bit boring but it does make me feel a bit more...how to say...in the work spirit. Since I'm still quite new, I have lots of enthusiasm so even getting dressed for working is sort of exciting. Sort of.

Today, I wore a pair of shoes that I normally find reasonably comfortable. However, I made the deadly mistake (by deadly, I mean potentially uncomfortable and upsetting) of not wearing socks or tights with them! Five hours later, the backs of my ankles were rubbed raw and I was in lots of pain. On the way home I was forced to just walk in bare feet and carry my shoes...how embarrassing! I don't like wearing socks when it's warm though...I might look out for a couple of super thin pairs...any recommendations? Besides switching them for a pair of super comfortable soft white sneakers, that is...

Since I am currently away with my family, I thought I would experiment with scheduled posts again! Here's one that I prepared earlier.

If you know me, you'll know that I'm sort of impatient. This dress is the story of how I managed to overcome this character flaw! It's really not as exciting as it sounds. Actually, now that I think of it, all I really did was er...wait for it to go on sale. Hey, it was hard! In the end I managed to get it for $15 :) I love the cute patterned white buttons, sweet colour and print, interesting back and full skirt! Ideally, I'd wear it on its own with barefeet and lots and lots of sunscreen, lying on a picnic rug and eating fairy bread. It's pretty much the perfect picnic dress! I really hope that the weather (which is being ridiculous lately...it's the middle of summer, and it's been raining most days!) decides to cheer up a bit and grant us some sunshine and warm weather to go with it! Till then, all I can do is dream about the perfect picnic food to go along with this dress. Any suggestions?

I just finished watching Carols by Candlelight and am definitely filled to the brim with holiday spirit! After spending a couple of days baking, singing carols and decorating, Christmas Day is almost here! Hello! I've been working very hard this past week (saving up for a holiday, hopefully!) and so haven't been able to take many photos. Since the place where I work has a black and red theme, finding different comfortable combinations of red and black things to wear has been rather difficult. I just rotate a couple of outfits! However, it's almost Christmas-time now and I'm officially on holiday! Unfortunately, the weather has not worked out so well...I am actually freezing right now and we're supposedly in the midst of summer. What's going on!?

I'm a rather stubborn kind of girl, and so I dressed for what I thought the weather ought to be like instead of what it was. It did not oblige me - I was interrupted several times by somewhat torrential rain...oops! At least the photos I did manage to get don't look thaaaat gloomy. Right?! Okay! I thought maybe dressing in all pastel pale colours would drive away the rain...oh well.

I really like the bow on this little knit hat but...my head is a little too giant for it! It looks a bit ridiculous. What should I do?

Since we missed the bus and didn't have keys to the house in which were staying, we had to wait it out...and buses come by every hour, eek! This dress (and necklace!) was a gift from my cousin - I think she noticed my fondness for maxi dresses after I wore the striped one. By the way, this is how my hair looks after being semi-drenched in rain...how lovely. It feels so much lighter now!

Hi! I'm back from my super fun holiday. Despite the forecast of rain all week, we got lucky and had a few days of sunshine. These photos are from one of the rainy days when we went to visit Sea World! You can probably see how windy and overcast it was. Ramalon loves the penguins and I love Ray Reef - you can pet the rays! I now have my own little bat ray named Chip! How cute.

Though some people think that Sea World is boring since it doesn't have many cool rides, I like it because there are lots of different shows to watch. Here are some photos of my favourite show (maybe! I liked them all) Buddy and Clawde, Fish Detectives starring two cutie sea lions!

This is a super late post, but this is what I wore for my birthday! I had a little tea party and made a ridiculously large amount of food...which we managed to finish in the end, amazingly. I thought that this dress had a sort of tea-party-feel to it. I'm not sure why! Maybe it's the long row of tiny buttons or the high collar...my favourite things about it are (of course) the full skirt and pretty embroidery on it! Since I had to spend a lot of time on my feet that day, I wore the most comfortable shoes ever. They're sneakers, but they feel like walking on air! Unfortunately, I have lost the shoelaces...so I wear them without. I'm so lazy! My dad used to tell me off all the time for not untying my shoelaces when slipping my shoes off...oops!

The last photo is the pink cupcake tower I built! Ramalon and I spent a night icing all the cupcakes with a pretty pink buttercream and I couldn't think of a way to serve them all besides using lots and lots of plates, which seemed like a waste of space. Luckily, I came up with the idea of stacking them up into a cake-like structure. It's definitely a lot easier than cutting up a giant cake into lots and lots of slices!

By the way, do you like my hairclip? It was a gift from Gertrude! It's very pretty and pink~ :)

Hi! Turns out I have internet connection on my holiday so I am using a bit of spare time to do a quick update! My favourite part so far is probably all the fun rides! Living in Melbourne, there isn't much chance for adrenaline rushes so this is super fun. Unfortunately, Ramalon isn't quite as fond of fast rollercoasters and such but I can usually manage to convince him to come on a couple of the baby rides. Just kidding! They are definitely also for the big boys.

I also love watching all the shows! One I really enjoyed is Bert and Ernie's Island Holiday at Sea World. Yes, it's targeted at children. Yes, the audience was all little kids. And...yes, it was amazing! It had lots of dancing and singing and fun and I will post some photos once I get around to processing them! How exciting.

I really like this shirt dress but sometimes I think it's a bit too...blue! I was looking through my closet for a colourful belt but found it lacking...until I remembered my laptop bag. It's a cute bright orange colour and comes with a matching strap for wearing it as a crossbody bag. Unfortunately, it's a bit too heavy to wear comfortably like that so I detached the strap...and decided it would make a good belt!

By the way, the last photo is my face when I saw the weather forecast for this week...it's going to rain here even more than it is in Melbourne!!

I am writing this post as I am preparing to leave for a holiday to the Gold Coast! I am totally afraid that I have forgotten something, but hopefully it'll be okay. Despite the forecasted rain, I think it'll still be lots of fun. I'm planning to visit all the major theme parks and maybe spend a couple of days at the beach...depending on if it rains or not! Either way, I am incredibly excited!

Yesterday I chopped off all my hair! Okay, not all of it...but quite a lot of it! The hairdresser took off 20cm in one go and showed me, somewhat disapprovingly. Oops! I've been a bit lazy when it comes to hair upkeep lately. Anyway, I now have much shorter hair, but it's also a lot healthier! All the damaged bits and split ends are completely gone, yay! Unfortunately, I still have a couple of backlogged photos (oops), so you might not see it for a while. Hopefully, I'll be done before my hair grows back! Just kidding :)

I've been so busy lately! Waking up super early (I haven't woken up early since...I finished school, pretty much!) and going to work every day for 8 hours makes me feel like a grown up. A very sleepy grown up! Most nights I have been coming home and zoning out for a couple of hours before falling asleep. I've had these photos on my camera for about a week and completely forgot about them! It's kind of amazing to look back because it's actually super rainy and cloudy at the moment, so it's strange to remember that it was nice and warm and sunshine-y.

Anyway, the project I was working on has been largely finished, so I think that I'm done! I'm really excited because this Thursday I am going interstate! Holiday! No more ridiculous Melbourne weather...it's going to be all sunny, all the time! ...Okay, I just checked the forecast and it seems to be raining all next week which is unfortunate. Alright. My grandma gave me this dress (it's a nightgown, actually, but it's too silly to keep for sleeping) for my birthday. The pattern on this slightly ridiculous dress reminds me of tattoo parlours! It looks so normal from far away but when you look closer, you see strange butterflies and sparrows and other creatures. Somehow, I can just see seedy walls lined with posters filled with prints of brightly coloured butterflies and snakes winding around pulsating red hearts. Because of this, I decided to go with this flow and added some "gangster-like" accessories for fun. Well, about as hardcore as I can get...with bubblegum pink combat boots and bright sunglasses. I clearly fit the part - just look at that slouch against the wall! Don't worry if you feel you cannot match my insouciance. I totally practised in front of a mirror. Just kidding, I didn't. Okay, I did. If you think this is weird...well...what's it to you, mister!

So, maxi dresses. Before, I thought that they were kind of silly and felt that I would never be able to look acceptable in them. However, I am very partial to pink and floral print, and with the added incentive of a low sale price, I decided I would try this one out for the first time. And I like it! Somehow it manages to make me look extra-tall and statuesque...well, much more so than normal, at least! I wore this to a garden party, and it was very exciting.

However, there is one slight problem. They are dangerous! Even though I shortened it by about 20 cm, long skirts are still a hazard. I tripped over about four times, and only once was because of the rope attaching the tent to the grass...the other times were all because of the dress! One of the photos here is a snapshot of the process of me falling...oh dear. Okay, this might be less of a maxi dress problem and more of a me problem! Does anyone else have this issue?

Thank you for all your kind birthday wishes! I can't believe that I'm now 19...this is my last year as a teenager! It's a little bit scary but I suppose it's exciting. It hasn't really sunk in yet! I still feel like a high school kid who's somehow wrangled a super long holiday...! Whenever I watch teen movies, I always feel a little weird to think that I'm older than every person there...at least, the ages they are pretending to be. Everytime I see an iconic prom scene or graduation I think - been there, done that (actually, we don't have prom in Australia but we sort of have an equivalent) HOW SCARY!

Okay, enough freaking out about how I am now old! I found this top whilst looking for jugs in a thrift store. I have a feeling it's supposed to be pajamas...okay, I'm sure it's meant to be pajamas because it came with a pair of PJ pants and was marked...pajamas. Oh well! Never let it be said that I am not shameless enough to wear PJs in public. I love the floaty sheer feeling and of course, spots are always my favourite! One thing though, it has slightly weird three-quarter almost bell sleeves! I was thinking of hemming them into short sleeves or maybe gathering and making them into ruched sleeves like below...hmm! I might sew in a tab and button so it becomes one of those nifty convertible shirts! So many options! Do you like the original sleeves or my makeshift short sleeves better?

It's my birthday tomorrow, and I've been busy preparing food, baking and cleaning in anticipation! I'm going to keep it short and sweet. As you probably have noticed I super love puffy dresses! I even made a petticoat (it's quite bad, but you can hardly tell since it's under my dress!) and I think it props up this lovely lightweight dress really well!

I wanted to try something a little bit different, so I went with muted tones instead of my usual super bright colour kind of thing. It was pretty hard not to add a bright scarf or belt or something! I think I have an addiction to SHINYBRIGHTSPARKLYYAY so kind of holding back and going for less was interesting! I think it turned out pretty well. I don't think I'll ever be an all-black kind of girl, but I think that's alright! If everyone was super stylish and edgy and all black...well, that would be boring! So theoretically, by being uncool, I'm doing the world a favour. I'm so kind!

ANYWAY. YES. Well, I'm almost old, so I better go and get my beauty sleep before I develop wrinkles already! See you darlings! Love~

You probably thought I was finally over the terrible attempt at being punny (see what I did there?!) but luckily enough what I lack in shame I make up for with my excellent wordplay skills. Sort of. Maybe. A little bit? Actually, I've been really into doing cryptic crosswords with Ramalon lately. Completing feels like winning a mental marathon, and the prize is the feeling of accomplishment and smartness which lasts until you attempt it again the next day and fail. Somehow it's really exciting. Yes, my life is very boring!

Ever since I started seeing capes around and realised that they weren't just for Superman (how dangerous - what if it got caught in an aeroplane turbine!?), I've secretly wanted one. Of course, I really wanted a bright red one so I could pretend I was Little Red Riding Hood, but it just never seemed like a practical idea. When I came across this strange triangular scarf, I thought it would be kind of cool to wear it as a cape. Though it might seem strange, it's actually perfect for not-quite-cool-enough-for-a-jacket-but-not-warm-enough-for-bare-arms weather. I think this could probably work for any giant scarves! Unfortunately, I don't have many. Yet!

I bought these shoes for a formal event two years ago and I've worn them about twice since. The reason for this: I am super clumsy. In fact, the last photo is the only successful photo before I er...fell into the flowerbed. I have the dirt stains to prove it! After a lifetime of wearing flats, I didn't really understand the concept of heels sinking into dirt...oh dear! Don't worry for my poor shoes, I was quick with a damp cloth. At least I know that I should stick with what I know now!

It's been rather rainy and cold, which is strange because it has been so warm lately, but it's sort of good because some variety is always good! I am easily distracted and easily bored so Melbourne with it's "four seasons in one day" kind of weather is sort of cool. It just means that the weather forecast is my friend! Luckily, I am slightly disorganised and have not yet put away my winter clothing, so I was able to pull out my red jacket! It's very warm even though it has short bell sleeves. A coat-like jacket with short sleeves seems like a somewhat impractical idea but...what's life without a little whimsy?

I love a good bargain. Who doesn't, right? So when I found myself waiting for three boys to pick out shorts for summer (shopping with boys always makes me feel a bit sorry for them because they hardly have anything to choose from! I suppose it makes it a lot easier, though...), I couldn't resist buying this cute dress. It's a lovely soft pink with yellow roses (that seem to have blue leaves...interesting) and white spots! It's basically my blog background, softened a bit, with flowers added! What's not to love? It also has interesting detail in the back - unfortunately, I deleted the photo showing this! I should back up my files...maybe.

These sunglasses are by far my favourites. However, and this is very sad to say, I think they are on their last legs. The screw holding the arm together has been long lost, and I have no idea how to find a replacement. If you're wondering what that strange white line hanging down from the sides is in the third photo, well, that would be my make-shift fastener - dental floss. For some reason, I got it into my head that dental floss was super, super strong (I must have been thinking about spider's webs! They are stronger than steel, you know! This was once part of a physics exam I did...) and tried to fix them. Sadly, it was not super successful - I think it might be time to say goodbye! Luckily, I have spotted a few similar pairs on ebay, so it won't be too tragic. Thank goodness for online shopping!

It's officially warm weather time! Today was the first genuinely warm and sunny day (that I can remember, I have a really bad memory!) after a strangely long and cold winter. I know it's just a taste of the scorchingly hot summer to come, but I can't help getting excited for beach weather! Something about this striped dress reminds me of old swimming costumes. I'm not sure what it is, but I must have once seen a photo of one, because it's stuck in my memory! You know, those old-fashioned swimsuits for males with the top and the stripes? Maybe I'm imagining things, oh dear!

One thing about summer I really like is wearing sunglasses! My favourite thing about sunglasses is when they have a brownish-orangey-gold tint. I call them "beautiful world" sunglasses, because they make everything look amazing and glowy and...well, beautiful! After some failed attempts to take photos with my sunglasses over the lens, I decided to try and recreate the effect in photoshop. What do you think? Of course, it's nowhere near as good as the real thing, but better than nothing, right?!

Please excuse my weird attempts at "artistic" photoshopping. Unfortunately, it seems that I'm not particularly skilled in that area. Oh well, practise makes perfect!

What do you do when your belt is too long? Pierce a new hole in it! It sounds simple but I actually have no idea how to do it. Maybe with a hammer and a nail? After some messing around with a pen (pens are not as sharp as you'd think...), I decided to try something different. For now, I've resorted to twisting it into a knot and pushing it down. It looks kind of cool and it definitely helps keep it on. Surprisingly, it actually stays put! Exciting. What do you do when your belt is too short? Nothing! Breathing is for the weak, friends. Just kidding! We wouldn't want any Snow White moments, would we? Actually, that would be kind of cool because eventually you would get to meet your Prince Charming, but still. It's a little risky!

I decided to buy these sandals within minutes of seeing them. I've had a long and tragic history with sandals - my feet are shaped kind of oddly, and they hardly ever fit. Ramalon stopped me from this (he was frightened at how willing I was to spend money, I think) but I went back a week later and bought them (30% sale, better than nothing!). They are super comfortable and the first pair of flat sandals I've ever bought! So exciting. When I first bought them, I refused to take them off until I went to sleep.I can't wait to wear them walking around parks and amusement parks and places where the car is parked and ...Park Lane. Yay!

Hi! I'm super happy because I've just finished my exams! This means that I can begin my...(wait for it)...four month long holiday! I can't believe it; I've never had such a long holiday before! I'm a little bit worried that I'll waste it by spending most of it in bed, but since the weather is starting to get a little nicer I'm sure that won't be such an issue, yay! Of course, I will blog more often as well. Maybe. Yes!

It's my birthday in a couple of weeks (November 18th - the same day the new Harry Potter movie comes out!), and I'm planning on having a tea party! I've been looking around for some inspiration and have bookmarked a couple of recipes which I plan on testing out over the next week. I definitely want to have little sandwiches and cupcakes and much more. Wow, I'm getting hungry! Does anyone have any recipes or ideas?

As for decorations, I think it won't be quite as lovely as the ones in these photos. It'll probably be outdoors on our giant wooden table. Maybe a natural theme...hmm. What else do you need for a tea party? We actually don't have many teapots - all of ours are tiny little ones for green tea. Oh dear! I might have to go shopping...oh well!

After some research (ie, googling) I found out that my cloth mary jane shoes are also known as kungfu shoes. Well, of course, I must now always refer to them as kungfu shoes. I have no idea why they are called this (maybe they're used for...kungfu training?) but I think it's a pretty excellent name!

It's almost holidays which means...hello, exams! I've dealt with my pre-exam stress the natural way - retail therapy! Oh dear. My bank account is not liking me very much. At least the dollar is amazingly high and I've got a job lined up for the summer...but still!

This dress is a part of my online shopping addiction, a ridiculous mesh of bright splodges with a interesting (Ramalon says it's ridiculous, but what does he know?) rounded neck piece. I have a strange love of super puffy dresses. They are so unflattering but...sort of amazing. I hate feeling things tight against me, so flowy, puffy dresses are ideal.

I miss blogging! Once I have more free time...expect to be annoyed by how often I'm posting. Oh, how silly of me, of course you would never get annoyed by my posts! Right? Okay!

It feels like I haven't posted in forever! Internet issues coupled with a lack of motivation and inspiration caused this. Since it's been warmer, all I've really been wearing is dresses and shoes. How boring! However, since I've never really claimed this blog to be very interesting (tragically, it is not) I've decided that I'll continue treating it as a sort of exciting record of my life, rather then some kind of world-changing site, and make an effort to commit. Just for fun, yay!

This is an example of a boring dress and shoe outfit. The day I wore this was...29 degrees! How amazing. It almost hit the thirties, and it's not even November. This is even more amazing considering how cold and long the winter has been. Unfortunately, the downside to this lovely weather is intense hayfever. I can't breathe through my nose or stop sneezing! Hopefully my posts will get more exciting when I feel less stifled. I have this crazy mountain of tissues and it keeps building up...

Who doesn't love Barbie? From her bright pink car to her perky ponytail, she is definitely iconic. I know that I personally had three Barbie dolls (one of them came with an awesome locker that had a notebook inside!) and was subscribed to Barbie magazine for a significant part of pre-teen years. I loved how they were really small in size, not like a silly big magazine. I also liked entering the competitions! My dad bought me my own set of stamps so that I could enter the competitions as often as I liked. Back when stamps only cost 40 cents...

I usually don't wear pink and purple together because I think it's just a bit too girly. But today, feeling like Barbie herself, I decided to go the all pink and purple route...along with some yellow, to brighten it up! It looks nothing like what she would wear (which is okay, my legs will never be as long as Barbie's!) but at least I got the hair right! Until, of course, the wind whipped it to the side. It's okay, it looks better like that anyway! When I curled my hair, I stopped wearing it up in a ponytail because it looked a bit strange. I tried to emulate her hair, but it didn't really work. Oh well! I'd rather have the pink car, anyway.

Oh no! I totally thought that I had already posted this. Somehow, posting irregularly makes me really unmotivated to post at all! Sorry to my one fan (Hi Ramalon!), I'll try and make myself stick to a schedule from now on. Hopefully it'll work!

Anyway, the day I wore this outfit, I had an oral presentation at university. For some reason, I thought it might be a good idea to try and dress slightly corporate - at least more so than usual. Unfortunately, it turns out that I am terrible at this. This is my best attempt! I can't imagine having to go into an office everyday wearing corporate clothing. I suppose that's just a part of growing up. The idea of becoming a super mature and sensible adult is...it's like a UFO. I'm not sure if it's real and it's sort of exciting and amazing... but it also seems to be very far off in the distance...and when the aliens come, it's all over!

Lately, I've been finding it difficult to find time to post! It's quite sad because, even when I do manage to take photos, I often run out of time to post it. Posting a photo on a different day feels weird, somehow. It makes it hard to write! Oh well. Hopefully, things will sort themselves out!

It's now getting a little warm, and I can feel summer coming! It's time for sun dresses and short sleeves. I like the simplicity of this dress and the full skirt. However, it sort of annoys me a little because it's strapless. I'm sure anyone who has ever worn a strapless dress will understand what I mean! Besides the difficulty of finding concealable and comfortable undergarments, there is also a chance of slippage. It's quite dangerous, really. But that's me. I live on the wild side.

When I was young, I wanted to be a princess! This is because I used to be completely addicted to Disney and fairy-tales. Okay, I suppose not much has changed, but instead of dreaming about living in a palace with dishes and teapots as friends, I now have a love of super puffy princess-like dresses and skirts! Sadly, a large amount of dresses and skirts these days are of the body-con style - which is very nice, but unfortunately doesn't suit me. Anyway, the other day, I was thinking of a way to make my skirts even more puffy. Enter...petticoat!

This petticoat is made out of three tiers of off-white netting (sorry for the terrible photo!) and is the product of a couple of hours of work. It wasn't quite as difficult as I thought it might be, but I really hate gathering! It seems like such a waste of thread. I think it turned out okay! It's a little messy and uneven (did I mention that I hate gathering?) but since it's supposed to be worn under clothing and will probably never be visible, I'm okay with that. What do you think of the end result? I wish it were a tiny bit more puffy, so I might do some more work to it!

This top is nice and silky but has a strange pattern! It looks almost like a blue tree, or clouds with blue...stems? When I was younger, I used to believe that you could walk on clouds. Whenever we would take a plane overseas, I'd stare out the window and imagine what it would be like to bounce around on the fluffy marshmallow clouds. Oh, that reminds me! I remember when I read a lot of books from overseas, and they always had sandwiches with something called marshmallow fluff in it. I used to want to try it so badly (I am extremely suggestible) but was a little disappointed when I finally did. I wonder what the brand was? Maybe I will Google it. I'm definitely not a fan of Instant Google! It distracts me from typing in my Google query. I remember when I was about 10, and I heard about Google for the very first time during this school workshop that I attended. I think that day probably changed my life.

If you're wondering what just happened up there, I thought it might be fun if I just wrote down everything that came to my mind for a minute. Oh dear! Maybe it wasn't that fun. Oh well, it was fun for me!

For some reason, I've always wanted a pair of gumboots. Even though I don't spend that much time walking around in the rain, something about the bright candy colours and silly patterns always appealed to me. Unfortunately, they are also super expensive, and, let's face it, not super versatile to match! So when I noticed the shiny of these berry pink boots...well...it was a little bit hypnotic! They have some kind of magical bouncy sole. I'm really used to walking in completely support-less flats and such, and so it kind of feels amazing. Also, they make me want to jump on things! Jumping in puddles whilst humming along to music is theoretically is a great idea, but one soaked skirt and pair of tights later I realised it doesn't work quite as well in practice. Oh dear!

This weekend has been sort of stressful! Ironically, the time I am most busy is often right after a very long break. This is because I am of a not-so-rare breed known as the Procrastinators. I would like to say that I've learnt my lesson from this mistake and will never put off an essay again, but in my heart I know that is extremely, extremely, unlikely. Oh well. I kind of like the adrenaline rush that you get when frantically typing the night before. Sort of. Maybe a little.

Anyway, today's hairstyle is courtesy of my old love of Japanese pop. Back in the day (read: three years ago), I was a fan of idol groups. Even though they are ridiculous and usually can't sing, their music was really catchy and...I like the ridiculous! What do you think of my pinned up fringe? I think that the cute frog clip distracts from how strange it looks. How useful!

If there is one thing that I really like about clothing, it is the tiny details. I am easily bored and distracted and so I really like things that are somewhat exciting. Take, for example, this shirt. From far away, it's pretty normal. Bright colour. Strangely boxy shape. However, when you look at it close up...you see the adorable flower buttons! I really like pretty buttons. Actually, I like buttons of all sorts. If only I knew how to sew buttonholes on my machine...every time I try, it gets really weird and snagged. It works for about half the buttonhole, but then goes really strange! Does anyone know why?

Glasses again! Though it's a lot easier to see how photos turn out when I'm wearing them, it's a bit lame because they aren't anti-reflective and so look super weird about half the time! Oh well. I really hope my eyes get better soon so I can wear contact lenses again! Somehow, I'm unable to wear glasses for more than an hour without getting ridiculous smudge prints...and they always fog up! How inconvenient.

Something about wearing glasses makes me want to dress like I'm back in school all over again! This sweater vest is really giant and has huge shoulders, so I'm not really sure what to do with it. I scrunched the shoulders up a little - otherwise it looks like it has cap sleeves, or something weird like that! I might just try to sew it up like that permanently.

If you're wondering, yes, that is dirt on my knee. I tripped over! I'm so sophisticated, I know!

Oops! I have a feeling I've worn almost the exact outfit that I wore today before. Oh well. I layered a bunch of shirts because of the extreme cold, and ended up with this. Somehow, I thought that buttoning my shirt all the way to the top would keep my neck warm. It sort of worked! Probably not as good as a scarf, though.

I usually wear contact lenses, but lately I've been having some problems with my eyes and so have given them a rest. Normally, I take off my glasses when taking photos because they look weird! However, since I just bought a new pair of glasses, I thought I would post a photo of them. For some reason, the optical store I bought them at made me buy two pairs instead of one, so I also bought a pair of dark brown frames. I might take photos of those another day! What do you think?

Okay, according to the calendar, it's the end of September. We should be well into the middle of Spring right now! However, it's still pouring rain and freezing cold. What's up with that? I've already been to a rained-out barbecue and am probably going to go to another one tomorrow! Oh dear. I still love picnics, though. Hopefully it'll be okay!

In preparation of Spring, I bought these cute pink shoes that were on sale. They are pretty flimsy, but cheap enough that I ignored that fact. When the weather becomes nicer and properly Spring like, I'll be wearing these to lovely picnics and other being-outside-without-tights kind of activities. Yay!

I'm currently on a music camp and so am experimenting with scheduled posts! It feels really weird to write with the intention of it being received at a later time, but hopefully I will get used it it. It seems like it would be really convenient, but I always post at weird times anyway. Oh well!

I have always had a secret dream to be super cool "gangsta". I read that there was more street cred if you spelt it that way! In my mind, one of the features of such a person is, of course, a giant motorcycle. And so, I have always had a fascination with motorcycle leather jackets. I've never been brave enough to actually buy one, so when I found this on sale, I decided to try it! If you zip it up all the way, it becomes a hooded jacket with an assymetrical zip. Unfortunately, Ramalon told me that they disturb him (I find them a bit strange as well) but it looks okay not completely zipped up. It looks a bit silly from close up, but from far away, it's totally cool. Just like me!

Has anyone ever eaten an entire Mars Bar? My dad bought a whole bunch (they were on sale, of course) and I tried to eat one and I...just couldn't. It was really hard! Somehow it was too sweet, or something. Which is strange, because I never used to have a problem with sweets. In fact, I love them. Maybe I'm growing up and getting over my sweet-loving phase.

This dress is a very bold, bright colour and I seem to only be able to wear it with even brighter colours. These tights are unbelievably purple. They actually almost distress me - that's how purple they are! I love colours though; clashing, matching, whatever! Maybe one day I will grow out of this bright, colourful phase...but till then, I'm going to wear as much as I can! Actually, I still love sweets. Hopefully, I'll always love colour as well!

I'm capped! My internet is currently running just a little bit slower than a depressed snail and it's very tragic. Every page takes about five minutes to load - and that's if it even loads. Whenever I'm waiting for the traffic light, I always press repeatedly on the crossing button. I have a theory that if you press it in time exactly with the beeps, it makes it change faster. Last night was really exciting for me because it was my first ukulele gig! Saying that just makes me feel so professional. It was for my friend's sister's 21st (we're not super close, but he found my videos on youtube and messaged me) and the night was pretty amazing. Ramalon accompanied on guitar and I made him wear a navy shirt so we could match! I can't decide if I like this dress or not, hmm. Anyway, she was super cute and happy and loved the song, which was The Birthday Song by Corinne May. Sometimes being an only child is a bit sad and lonely. I'd love for a little brother who knew my taste in music exactly and brought in surprise musical guests and all! Oh well.

I've decided to save up all the money I make from things like this to buy a new ukulele. I think I want a concert one, maybe one that's a little bit nicer than the one I have now. Don't get me wrong, I still super love my pink ukulele. So many people have asked me "So...does it...work?" What do you think? I think it does! Wish me luck~

Though I write this blog and like to think that I dress interestingly, I don't think I really do! In fact, some of my favourite outfits are as boring as this - just a simple dress. I just wish this one had a swirlier skirt! I can't wait until it gets warmer and I can wear all my summer dresses without jackets or scarves or tights. There's nothing better than an old-fashioned movie date! Ticket prices are getting higher every day, so we always take advantage of the buy-a-burger and get-a-movie-ticket for $9.90 at our local burger shop, Urban Burger. Since we probably would go there anyway, it's a great deal. This is starting to sound a bit like an advertisement, but it's honestly the best burger that I've ever had. So good! I don't know what it is, but something in the sauce or something is just delicious. My photography is pretty terrible, but believe me, it's very tasty.

The movie we watched was Easy A. It was pretty much everything you expect from a teen comedy. I really like trashy teen movies, so this was good for me! I think Emma Stone is super cute and funny; she reminds me a lot of Lindsay Lohan back in her Mean Girls days. I suppose it did lack in emotional depth or whatever, but it was cute. Yes, I have extremely high standards for movies! Do you have any movie recommendations?

Hi, I'm Sallyannie and I'm addicted to shopping. More specifically, online shopping. It's something about that disconnect between the paying of the "money" (as if it counts!) and then the sudden arrival of amazing presents that really gets me. What can I say? I love a good bargain. I do love browsing through shops in real life, but the lack of sales and oddly high prices make it harder for me to spend my money. I'm also a lot less inclined to drop a lot of money because cash is a lot more tangible, and I can see it disappearing from my wallet! I should probably have that attitude towards my online shopping, oh dear!

Anyway, one of my favourite places to online shop is of course Ebay. You can actually find anything you want there! When I was looking for glow-in-the-dark stars to stick on my ceiling and couldn't find them anywhere in store, I turned to Ebay and - of course - found them immediately. This pink bow belt is one of my favourite Ebay finds! It's pretty terrible quality but it's so cute! Unfortunately, the clasp is really unreliable and today it finally broke off and I lost it. I have no idea where it was when this happened, which means I have pretty much no chance of finding it. How sad! I would try to replace it...but I'll probably get lost in Ebay again. Oh no!

Every single person in the world has insecurities. Whether they be in regards to intelligence, beauty, strength or power, I don't think anyone could say that they are always completely secure. A little bit of insecurity is natural, but it's when you let your fears overcome you and stop you from doing something that you want to do that it becomes a problem.

I hardly ever pants. It's really hard for me to wear them without a super long shirt, or something along those lines. This is because I'm really self-conscious about how I look in them. It probably seems paradoxical that I'm okay with wearing skirts and such but...I don't know, it seems much less terrible somehow. Today I tried to face my fear and...it wasn't that bad. Okay, it was a little bad. One step at a time!

Sometimes it's the small details that really make something. For example, whenever I'm making a slurpee at 7/11 (this is strangely often), I like to fill it almost all the way with cola flavour and then top with raspberry, resulting in a cute pink layered drink! For a while, we had this really yum sherbet flavour which was pale pink and looked so nice on top of the raspberry...unfortunately, it's no longer available! It's kind of sad that they rotate their flavours so often because it means the best ones eventually disappear. I really liked Strawberry-Kiwi! It sounds like such a good combination. Actually, I had a lipbalm in that flavour which kind of tasted like watermelon. Strange, right?

...wait, what was I talking about again? Oh, that's right. I think the lace inset on the front and back of this shirt really makes it. Along with the somehow exactly the same colour shoe and belt combination and a passable (albeit wrinkly) skirt that I sewed, I'd say that it worked out pretty well. Of course, not as well as a cola and strawberry-kiwi and raspberry and sherbet slurpee would but...well, how would that even be possible?

Isn't this a nice, warm, winter-y dress? Actually, it's a backless summer dress layered over a long-sleeve shirt! Tricked! I couldn't wait till it got warmer to wear it, so I just wore it over my black top. For some reason, most of my clothing is sleeveless. This is probably because when I was still in high school, the only time I was able to dress casually was during summer and so most of my clothes were summer clothes. Now, every day is casual clothes day! I will admit that I do miss my school uniform a little bit. I remember on our last assembly, a friend commented that this would probably be the only time we'd be in a huge group, all dressed exactly alike and singing hymns. I'm so nostalgic already, and I'm not even 19 yet! Oh dear.

1) I used to be a skateboard gang. Or at least, I have a hardcore giant purple (it was black a couple of days ago...) bruise from when I fell off a skateboard at my friend's house last week. 2) I sometimes forget the place I bought my clothes from, or do not know the brand name and I make it up or guess. Sorry! I felt so guilty that just then, whilst typing this post up, I took off my clothes so that I could read the labels. Dedicated!

3) I always dress for the occasions. For example, today my cousin treated our family to dinner at a buffet. Enter giant, puffy spotty shirt. Or as I like to call it, buffet shirt. Hello food!

Recently, there was this reality television show that played almost every single night. However, far from being annoying, it was actually kind of...amazing. Like so many other Australians (seriously, it was one of the most watched television shows!), I got completely sucked in, and started avoiding going out at nights so that I could watch it. Of course, I'm talking about Masterchef! It's sort of like Project Runway, but for cooking. Despite the fact that I rarely cook, it has really inspired me...to eat a lot. Oh dear! Just kidding, it also has inspired me to bake!

I love the smell that spreads through the kitchen when you're baking. These cinnamon scrolls were particularly good at that. Unfortunately, despite the fact that winter has almost ended, it's still very cold indoors and so it's hard to find a "warm place" for yeast to rise. I've tried several methods such as putting it over the heating duct (unfortunately I failed to take into account the fact that it wasn't on...) and in the sun (...it was not as sunny as I thought it was) and even in the microwave right after it had finished heating something up (it felt warm in there to my hands!) and as you can imagine, it was not very successful. It was very sad to come back and see my dough not grown. Why not grow, dough? That rhymed! ...er, yes.

Luckily, I have an amazing dad who does all the cooking and he showed me that you could leave it in the oven at the lowest temperature with the door open and a damp cloth over the top. What would I do without him? Probably starve to death...or least be forced to live on a diet of cheese and ham toasted sandwiches and instant noodles. How sad!

The sun is back! It was actually warm enough to wear short sleeves - for a little while at least. It'll probably be a bit before it starts actually warming up, but a little taste of spring is better than nothing, right? My niece's birthday is the 1st of September, the first day of Spring! We're going to go over on Wednesday to eat cake with her. She's so cute and just loves jumping around on my trampoline. Yesterday was the first time she learnt how to jump by herself! She's going to be two. How adorable!

I've decided I like my bowtie necklace. I'll probably make some in happy spring-y patterns soon and put them in my shop, yay. It's sad that I'm so behind, but I'm sort of scared that no one will buy anything and it'll be sad and lame, oh dear! So far I've made some rings, strange cuffs (they are sort of cool but mostly strange. I'll show you another day!) and necklaces. I also really like normal bowties but I don't think that other people do, which is very sad! Oh well!

It's really sad that nothing rhymes with purple - it makes making post titles just a little more difficult. I've noticed that I actually own and wear quite a lot of purple things. I'm not sure why, since I'm not especially fond of it, or anything...coincidence, I suppose! Or...maybe not...dun dun dun! I like excitement but I definitely don't like horror movies. Or excessive violence! I watched Kick-Ass with friends the other day and spent most of it with my face buried in my boyfriend's shoulder. Then I had a dream that I was in a knife fight, but the knives were actually giant swords and then I died and it was sad. Oh! Another thing that's sad - my shoe broke again! Yes, my life is so hard, I know.

Okay, going to stop being silly now (shush)! I like this skirt because (I feel like I've mentioned this before...oh well!) the print reminds me of tea. I'm not sure why. Tea rose? Is that a real thing? It's quite pretty, but also rather sheer and short...to combat this, I pulled my skirt down a bit and wore two pairs of tights. Does it count if one of them is sort of fishnet-y but circles? For some reason, I have a collection of fishnet tights - pink and black, sparkly, circle-y (that's this one!) and normal. I hardly ever wear them because I'm scared of looking too...well, slutty. Any suggestions!?

By the way, if you are admiring the amazing photography, the third one is courtesy of a giant smudge on the lens that diffused the light in a very awkward manner, and the last one is me miscounting the number of beeps on the self-timer. Yep! At least the right side of my hair looks nice in that one, right? Right!?

Originally, I didn't know what to do with this scarf. It's a strange pink and black super long trapezium of fabric with a random fabric covered D-ring atttached. After awhile, I finally realised that you were supposed to thread the fabric through the ring so it formed a loop. Of course! I felt very silly once I figured it out, and now I can think of lots of ways to wear it! That is, if you define the word "lots" to mean...three. Oh dear.

I think my favourite way to wear it is probably as a headscarf, just because it's probably the most natural. Maybe the intended way, as well? It's interesting that wearing it as a belt changes up the whole mood of the dress - it looks sort of more serious and shirt-dress-like as opposed to the...silly and sort of childish but also very comfortable dress it actually is.

I like how ridiculously bold but also plain this dress is. In my mind, the solid colour means it's perfectly fine to wear white and pink leggings and purple shoes with it! I don't know, I guess I just think that even though this outfit is sort of painfully bright, it's also lots of fun! Kind of like...a glow in the dark bracelet. Only not really. Unfortunately, I'm really bad at analogies. How sad! OH, another thing I am really bad at is collecting awards! I'm very good at procrastinating (I'm printing off an essay due tomorrow right now...) and I'm really very sorry for the delay! It will happen soon, definitely! ...hopefully!

It's almost spring time! I can't quite believe that time has passed so fast; it really does seem just like yesterday I was hoping winter would come faster. The best part is the flowers that bloom around this time - my favourite is the cherry blossom tree in our backyard! Actually...the other day, I remember looking down the street and thinking how odd it was that cherry blossoms actually bloom in winter. I totally forgot that it was almost spring now! Oops. I'm super observant!

The worst thing about spring, however, is sadly related to this. Hayfever! The sniffling, the runny nose, the sneezing...it's actually so tragic. Hopefully, I'll remember to take my antihistamines and will no longer suffer! If it weren't for allergies, spring would definitely be my favourite season. It's even got the perfect weather - sunny, but cool.

Anyway, to celebrate the coming of spring, I wore this floral dress. Even though florals are so ubiquitous, I kind of still love them. They're just so pretty and colourful! Actually, I love most patterns...spots, stripes, squares (I was going for some alliteration...!) even...snowman. Oh wow, that would be cool. By the way, my tights were actually green underneath the grey! I was not dressing up as a tree though. Maybe a bush...?

Uh oh! I'm in a hurry, so it'd be cool if everyone just er, overlooked the super strange corner of the third photo...I should probably delete it but...I cannot be bothered, so instead everyone can admire my interesting and er artistically asymmetrical photo! Excellent.

I remember a few years ago pinafore/jumper dresses were really popular! Girls everywhere were wearing them and they were sold in so many stores! On multiple occasions someone has told me that they also have this dress. Sadly, I haven't seen any for a really long time but...I am cool so I still wear mine. It seems today I endeavoured to dress up as a rag doll. Too bad my hair isn't bright red!

Speaking of bright red hair, I want to reread Anne of Green Gables! It was probably my favourite book when I was younger. I got wiki-trapped reading about it today (I just made up this word - it's what happens when you click onto a wikipedia page and end up spending ages and ages following links and reading random articles...always happens to me!) and it made me totally nostalgic. What was your favourite childhood book?

billy coat gruff

When I bought this coat, it was the middle of summer (bargains are good). I remember barely being able to stuff it into the bag I was carrying and considering throwing it on...until I got outside and nearly melted. The shop assistant (I think he was the shop owner...) laughed at me when I bought it, thinking I was ridiculous. Well! Despite the sort of bad quality (check out the weird pilling! Okay, it's not that obvious in these photos), it's reasonably cute and rather soft. I've never really been much of a coat girl, it doesn't really get that cold here so I can survive with a jacket or cardigan. Unfortunately, I've been sick again and so I thought that I ought to keep as warm as possible!

This new dress is one of my favourites now! It's really comfortable and super easy to wear. I love that it has sleeves because I feel less ridiculous wearing it in winter. My absolute favourite thing about it is the twirl factor - this has always been important feature of my favourite skirts or dresses. I remember doing this since years and years ago, when I was a little kid. I love twirling around in them and watching it spin up!

Back in the day, my friend Gertrude and I used to watch a lot of anime. I think it affected us in different ways - at times I think that it might be the mysterious cause of my slightly squeaky voice! Luckily, I've managed to tame this and it only comes out when I'm really nervous, excited or crazy. As for her, well...I personally think they are the cause of her abhorrence of long skirts, but I might be wrong! This is personal opinion only. Anyway, the reason I bring this up is because my outfit today sort of reminds me of anime!

I didn't mind our school uniform here in Australia, but I really like Japanese school uniforms. They're just too adorable with their pleated skirts and cute bows at the neck. I'm pretty sure that I was thinking of something like this subconsciously when I tied this bow today! It is a little costume-y, but I don't really mind. When I was younger, I used to go to a yearly festival dressed up in a self-made costume and everything! Yep, I'm super cool. Even when I stopped liking anime as much, I still loved the clothing. Japanese street fashion is also quite like this. They are both kind of...how to say...incredibly ridiculous, but still lots of fun. Just like me! Except I'm definitely not ridiculous! ...much.

Indoor winter lighting makes me want to cry - the auto smart fix button makes it look stupid, not nice! I'm definitely not good at manual editing, how sad. I literally spent ages looking at the wall and the photo and back at the wall again trying to work out if they were the same colour or not...oh dear!

When I first bought these shoes (hello, ebay addiction...), I thought they were kind of boring. Over time, the dark brown with a funny hint of reddish wine colour started to grow on me! Even though they are rather similar to my black pair, they were pretty cheap and also they sort of have spots on them! Unfortunately, the first time I wore them, the sole came unstuck in the front! My attempt at trying to fix it went haywire, but my lovely dad fixed it up for me, and here they are. Yay!

The blazer was a gift from my cousin! She is also an avid online shopper. The combination of this and my tights made me very heart-y. Just like my dinner! Okay, that was not a very good joke. By the way, if you are wondering about the socks that I'm wearing...my best friend is...eccentric, so to say, and refuses to do things like wear matching socks. To solve the irritating problem of having socks that are the same, she gave me the extras. Lucky me! Unfortunately, I'm not sure how to wear odd socks and so pushed them down to minimise the strangeness. Sorry, Gertrude!

Things I have learnt from today:

1. When you take photos early in the morning, your face will look oddly misshapen. I have no idea why this happens! Water retention, or something? It makes all close up photos extremely distressing.

2. Despite the fact that lack of sleep might cause sunlight to bring pain, don't get dressed in the dark. It is not a Very Good Idea.

3. Sleepy face + dressed in dark = disaster

4. Don't choose early morning classes.

5. Alternatively, go to bed a bit earlier.

6. Who am I kidding!

7. I don't think my numbers are following the pattern any more!

8. I think I will try to get to 10, since it's a nice, round number.

9. Thank goodness for days off! I can't wait till tomorrow.

If you've been reading this blog for awhile, or indeed just flipped through the archives once or twice, you might notice that I have a phobia of fitted skirts. They look really, really awful on me! Sometimes, however, I will go a bit crazy and decide that it can't possibly be so bad and perhaps buy something like that. Enter my addiction to online shopping. I do like the funny material (it has a cool mesh overlay kind of thing) and sweetheart neckline, but it is...how to say...a bit shapeless. I wasn't really sure what to do, so I thought that I might layer it under a vest and cardigan and see how it went from there. To keep in with the theme, I added a pair of socks over my super thin tights - it's kind of surprising how much extra warmth they give!

By the way, the first photo is my attempt at doing a Matrix impersonation. I haven't actually seen any of the movies, nor am I sure what they are about, but I definitely recall everyone wearing sunglasses and staring moodily into the distance in the posters and trailers. Is it weird that I haven't seen them? Ramalon insisted that I watch Lord of the Rings, Matrix and Star Wars because it was sacrilegious of me to be so lax in my important movie watching. So far I've only seen The Fellowship of the Ring...getting there! What movie do you think is must-see?
